Catnip

Gave Sophie (the cat) some catnip today, it seems like fairly strong stuff. Some friends got me a catscratch tower for my birthday for her, it has a scratching post, dangle ball, small bridge/tunnel and an elevated sleeping area. If I was a cat I would think it was awesome. She had only used the post up until today. Sorry, I digress.

So I sprinkled some of the catnip on the bridge and on the sleeping bit and she totally spazzed out over it, rubbing it and pawing it and even getting on the elevated bed bit and rubbing round in circles and almost falling off, not to mention a fair amount of drool that seemed to accompany it. She loved it to bits.

Its funny to watch her now every time she goes up to have a scratch, which is fairly often. She gets a sniff of the catnip and spazzes again, she is so funny but clearly enjoying it.

Took the dressing off my appendicitis wound today, its weird actually seeing the stitches in my skin. They are rather neat it has to be said, might get boyfriend to take a photo of it tomorrow and I can track the healing with photos. Animated gif. for the w1n. That might be the WKD talking...

Played some TF2 and MW2 today also, enjoyed TF more than I have been doing in the past week, perhaps i must be getting better. I'm finding it a lot harder than MW2, which seems to be more luck than skill, its a lot more fast paced with less time to react which makes it much easier to die. At least in tf you have to hit someone more than once (crits aside) and for more than 2 seconds to kill them. Might do a pros and cons of both in a later entry. Bit sleepy now though.

Everything all at once

Why does everything always happen at once, though not that i'm complaining when it comes to work. I want to do so much but i'm still recovering from my operation and my endurance for drawing is still really reduced at the moment. I havent done anything for myself in several weeks which I feel a little bad about. Can't really count the doodles I did while I was in hospital but here they are anyway:

Two dragons looking at each other, was remarked that the left one looked a little like a friend with a hat when faced with someone of the opposite sex. Slightly scared and about to run for his life, i didn't mean it to be him but it rather fits. The nurses were pretty impressed with this picture but I guess most people don't draw in hospital.

Two really bad cannids :/

Moar dragons, the black one was done on the train on the way home one time.

Beginnings

I've had blogs before, and honestly got rather bored of them.

But with a little free time on my hands while I recover from having my appendix out I may as well give it another try.

It was all a bit mad really, got stomach ache on Tuesday morning after cycling to work for the first time and just tried to shrug it off. Cycled back that evening by which time i was doubled over in pain. Still didn't know what it was tried taking pain killers which didn't work.

Ended up phoning NHS direct about 3/4am that morning who told me to call out the emergency doctor but i didn't want to wake up the couple that lived in the house - they got up about 6am anyway so i waited till then and they took me to the local gp at about 11 and he refereed me right to hospital. (All of this just outside Crewe where i'm working at the moment and i've only been there like 5 days and I've never been in hospital before either and the couple that had taken me to hospital were going to London that day so had to leave me on my own)

So I was kinda sat there on a hospital bed watching everything going on probably looking mildly bemused at the whole thing until i was taken into theatre about 11:30pm on wed night. Boyfriend and my mum had dropped everything and driven to come and see me but had to leave way before i went in.

So i've got a 3 inch scar on my tummy which twinges a fair bit, I was in hospital from Wed - Sat and am now to spend at least two weeks recovering. It hurts to sit in certain positions and bending or stretching generally just hurts. Coughing and sneezing and laughing twinge a fair bit too, but its not so bad I guess.
